The MIND facility at the University Medical Center (UMC) Utrecht develops and provides training for the development and analysis of in vitro human brain and spinal cord models (iPSC-generated neural cells, organoids). In addition, it has expertise in fluorescence lightsheet microscopy (FLSM).

The facility collaborates with different (inter)national academic and industrial partners, and is part of various local (e.g. U-AIM, U-PORT), national (e.g. Dutch Science Agenda ‘ProMiSe’, MKMD, Health Holland project ‘NANO+’, NWO Gravitation grant ‘BRAINSCAPES’) and international consortia and initiatives (E-rare projects ‘INTEGRALS’ and ‘MAXOMOD’, MSCA COFUND ‘ResCUE’, JPND).
